Fay Ann Conner

Fay Ann Conner was born January 29, 1952 to Otto Rowland and Leta (Lewallan) Rowland of Sparta, Missouri and passed December 9, 2023 in her home.
She married the love of her life, John Conner, on May 9, 1975 in Miami, OK.
Fay Conner was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandma, aunt, and friend. If you had the pleasure of meeting her, her devastating quick wit and crude humor likely left you cackling, blushing, or a mixture of the two. She was a natural storyteller with a deep, colorful, detailed imagination - this did not always lend itself to the most technically accurate narratives, but boy would you be entertained. She had the gift of gab and often kept the phone line tied up gossiping with her sisters and friends. She was an excellent cook and loved to feed people. Her door was always open, and her refrigerator was stocked with cold soda.
Fay had an unmatched work ethic. She was never one to shy away from a job, be it dirty, hot, or laborious. She had strict standards for each and every task she performed, no matter how small. Nicknamed "The Warden" by her daughters-in-law, she had no time for laziness, sloppiness, or inefficiency. If she thought you fit the previous description, you knew. The woman had no poker face and absolutely no filter.
Like Peter Pan, she never quite grew up. She led her grandchildren into the most wondrous imaginary worlds. They spent summer days frolicking around the river (though she was terrified of water and could not swim) as Cowboys & Indians, Civil War heroes, and Sacajawea and Lewis & Clark. In the winter, they tucked inside, heating the house to 95 degrees with the fireplace, baking treats, hand-sewing intricate quilts, and painting rocks - she sent them home with dirty clothes and big smiles.
Fay will forever be missed by her father (Otto Rowland), 6 siblings (Linda Cawthra, husband Kenny; Dave Rowland, wife Beth; Richard Rowland, wife Kim; Kay Estep, husband Bob; Vicky Applegate; and Sherry Harrison, husband Steve), 3 children (Johnny Eakins, wife Robyn; Angela Reeves; and Nick Conner, wife Christi), 6 grandchildren (Megan Townsley, husband Matt; Karley Huslig, husband Ryan; John Reeves; Victor Reeves; Gage Conner; and Ryan Conner) 2 great-grandchildren (Lily and Calvin Huslig), and countless friends and other relatives.
Those who love her take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with the person who loved her most, John Conner. They will spend eternity loving one another in the same way they did here on this planet- wholly, madly, and endlessly.
