In Loving Memory of Ruby Fay McKinney
With hearts heavy yet full of gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Ruby Fay McKinney-a devoted mother, a steadfast wife, and exuberant granny. After a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer's, Fay, a woman of extraordinary grace, found peace on November 11, at the age of 78.
She was welcomed home by her parents - Durward & Ruby McKinny; her first husband- Edward Lee Mondin & ex-husband Robert Springfield; brothers - Tommy McKinny & W.A. McKinny; and sister-in-law Dorothy McKinny who all went before her.
Fay leaves behind a legacy of love carried by her husband and true love Fred McKinney; her children and their spouses-son Shane Mondin & wife Kathy, son Travis Springfield & husband Douglas, daughter Ticia Wertman & husband Adam, and son Justin McKinney & wife Kira; her beloved grandchildren, who never heard the word "no"-Trey Mondin and wife Haley, Trenton Mondin, Teagan Wertman, Koen Wertman, Jude McKinney, and River McKinney; & her great-grandchild, Kendall Mondin. She is also survived by loving family members Barbara McKinny, Bryan McKinny and Scott McKinny.
Fay's spirit was a gentle light-steady, kind, and endlessly giving. She never met a stranger, for every person she encountered soon became a friend. Her laughter warmed rooms, her hands offered comfort, and her heart held a generosity that knew no bounds.
In the McKinney family, "don't forget" was the tender phrase that meant I love you-now, those words carry new meaning, a reminder to hold her close in memory, to never forget the light she shared so freely.
Though she has left this earthly home, Fay's love remains woven through her family, her friendships, and all the lives she touched. Her legacy is one of compassion, courage, and unwavering devotion.
A service celebrating Fay's beautiful life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Hwy. in Victoria, Texas with visitation beginning at 1:30 PM. Fay will be laid to rest Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Dugger Cemetery in Seguin, Texas.
