Our loving Mother, Faye Barnwell, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at the age of 99.
She was born on February 21, 1926 to Edgar Ames and Mildred Puckett Ames, in Granite, Oklahoma. The family eventually moved to Parker County, Texas.
Faye met her husband, Clyde Barnwell, in 1940. He joined the U.S. Navy in WWII and returned home in 1945. They were married in January 1946. They were both graduates of Aledo High School - Clyde graduated in 1939 and Faye in 1944.
Faye is survived by her son, Dewey and wife, Jenny Barnwell; her daughter, Cynthia and her husband, Robbie Shumaker; one grandson, Gentry Barnwell; two great grandchildren, Hannah Barnwell and Shaun and his wife, Kamryn Shoffstall; and two great-great granddaughters, Raegan and Wrenley Faye. She is also survived by one sister, Loweda Wood.
A graveside service will be held in Aledo, Texas, at the Aledo Brown Cemetery, on July 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
