A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church for Faye Roy Hornback, 78, who passed away on October 1, 2025 with her family by her side. Father Andrew Schumacher, pastor of Holy Cross Church, will be the celebrant of the Mass and conduct the memorial services. Lectors for the Mass will be Melinda Shuman and Kay Dearborn; gift bearers will be Chris Roy, Cindy Savoy, Kay Hebert, and Sissy Breaux.
Faye is survived by her husband, Larry Hornback of Broussard; two sons, Jason Hornback and his wife Paula of Lafayette and Ryan Hornback of Maui, HI; four grandchildren, Hayden, Tanner, Taj, and Nayana; and one sister, Chris Roy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Irene Miller and Charles Roy; and one brother, Glenn Roy.
Faye was a native of Lafayette and resident of Broussard for the past 25 years. She was married for 57 beautiful years to her high school sweetheart, Larry. Their love was a rare and special kind — built on friendship, laughter, faith, and a lifetime of shared memories. Together they created a family filled with love, warmth, and strength.
She was the heart of her family. As a retired LPN, her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren grow. She never missed a game or event — cheering proudly from the stands, her smile lighting up every stadium she entered. Her family always knew that no matter what, “Mimi” would be there, stylish as ever and full of love.
She had a style and grace that were all her own — always put together, elegant, and radiant. But even more beautiful than how she looked was how she lived: kind, thoughtful, loving, and always bringing happiness to those around her.
She found peace and happiness in life’s simple blessings — the mountains, pretty flowers, and quiet moments surrounded by the people she loved most. Her gentle spirit, her laughter, and her endless love will live on in each of us forever.
The family requests that visitation hours be observed on Tuesday morning between the hours of 8:30 - 10:30 am at Holy Cross Church. A rosary will be led by Deacon Cody Miller at 10:30 am prior to Mass.
