Faye L. Rice, 88 of Oak Harbor, OH passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was born December 18, 1936, in Toledo, Ohio to Fritz and Ruth Mae (Wehner) Gulish. On January 29, 1956, Faye married her husband of 56 years, Harold M. Rice. Together with her husband, they farmed 350 acres for many years and were avid flea market vendors. Faye continued working the flea markets and was affectionately known as "the coin lady", retiring last year. She held down many jobs throughout her life. She also held jobs in Oak Harbor at the Modernette, Fehlhaber's Photography, and drove school bus for Riverview. However, first and foremost her most beloved "job" was being a mother to her two sons Michael and Jeffery. She loved going to the casino, feeding the birds, squirrels, her "stray" cats and her horse Netta-Kay.
Faye was the living example of unconditional love. No matter who you were, she was always there when anyone needed help and never expected anything in return but a thank you. As a member of Grace Baptist Church, Faye lived her life as a true disciple of Christ. With prayer on her lips, love in her heart and kindness for everyone she met. She poured out unconditional love to her family and to strangers alike, showing us the very love of God.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Harold M. Rice, son, Michael Jay Rice, parents Fritz and Ruth Mae (Wehner) Gulish and great-granddaughter Clara Dix. She leaves behind to cherish her memory son Jeffrey Rice of Oak Harbor and his longtime companion Donna Schoch who she loved as a daughter. Grandchildren Lori (Nathan) Frasure, Alysa (Andy) Dix, Jessica (Joe) Silecchia and Ajay Rice. Great-Grandchildren Aurora Jo, Henry, Kayenne, Landri and Winnie Jo.
The family wishes to thank Stein Hospice of Sandusky for the amazing care given to Faye in her final days. An extra special thanks to longtime friends Stacey and Dave Karshuk for all of the love, support and help, especially over the last several months.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 2-7 pm at the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel, 301 N. Locust St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449. A Prayer Service will begin at 7pm on Thursday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Faye's honor to Grace Baptist Church or to Stein Hospice of Sandusky.
