Ferlin Teat Obituary
Mr. James Ferlin Teat, 65, of Mauk, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in the Chapel of Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA, with Rev. James Peugh officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00PM
Mr. Teat was born January 8, 1959, in Reynolds, GA, to J. W. and Mozelle Watson Teat. He was employed with Unimin as a maintenance supervisor and Butler Sand as an equipment operator. He served honorably in the United States Army. A loving, caring man, he loved coaching Taylor county baseball and football. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a jack of all trades. Mr. Teat loved nothing more than his family and to cook. He was an avid Florida Gators and Troy Football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son, James Noah Teat.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Teat; three sons, Warren Teate (Gina) of Box Springs, GA, Sam Teate (Christine) of Mauk, GA, and William Teate (Nikki) of Buena Vista, GA; a daughter, Anna Teat of Butler, GA; a brother, Barney Teat (Sandra) of Mauk, GA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Taylor County Recreation Department.
Way-Watson Funeral Home, 1052 Dr. Deryl Hart Road, Buena Vista, Georgia has been entrusted with these arrangements.
