Floy Edna Parton

Floy Edna Parton, age 85, of Smithville, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Mena Regional Health System. She was born on Monday, April 8, 1940, to Ralph Theodore and Sylvia Leona Elliott Freed in Seminole County, Oklahoma.
Floy Edna Parton, a devoted member of Christ's Church of Cove, Arkansas, lived a life grounded in faith and filled with love and service. A proud Christian, Floy never missed an opportunity to remind others of the joy in being a Child of God. She dedicated her time to serving others, whether working as a secretary, a teacher's aide, or volunteering at church, always taking pride in everything she did. Alongside her beloved husband, Larry, she raised two children, Troy and Lisa, and was a deeply proud grandmother to three grandsons, often traveling to cheer them on at basketball and football games. Floy cherished her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother, creating a warm, welcoming home filled with love. She and Larry shared a passion for travel, often taking their camper across the country. In her later years, she found peace in nature, watching birds and deer, reading her Bible, and enjoying game shows-usually winning any family games she joined, thanks to her sharp mind and quick wit. Floy's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Floy is preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Ralph (Ted), Lloyd (Butch), Lonnie, and David.
Floy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Larry Gene Parton of Smithville, Oklahoma; her son and daughter in law, Troy and Renae Parton of Munday, Texas; her daughter, Lisa Parton of Moore, Oklahoma; one sister, Brenda Farr of Norman, Oklahoma; her grandsons and spouses, Austin and Hannah Parton, Cole and Grace Parton, and Zane Parton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Christ's Church in Cove, Arkansas with Brother Daniel Labertew officiating. Interment will follow the service at 3:00 PM at the Holdenville Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas. No visitation is planned.
Pallbearers will be Austin Parton, Cole Parton, Zane Parton, Chuck Rummel, Brian Dixon, Cullis Lee, Lance Freed, Noah Freed, Adam Freed.
