Floyd A. Lamica, 81, of Malone passed away at his home on November 4, 2025. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 1pm to 3pm followed by a funeral with Pastor Bentley McQuinn officiating. Burial will follow funeral at St. John Bosco Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Frary Funeral Home Malone.
Floyd was born on June 20, 1944 in Malone to the late Gerald E. and Bernice E. (Grant) Lamica. He graduated from Franklin Academy. In 1961 Floyd entered the United States Army. He served his country for until 1964 before being honorably discharged. Floyd married the former Diane Lynn Bashaw on August 27, 1983 in Malone. He went to work for Rochester Brick Company until making a career change which lasted for forty-eight years at Glaziers Meat Packing in Potsdam. In his spare time, Floyd liked to go fishing, rolling a bowling ball, and watching stock car racing.
Floyd is survived by his four sons; Dominic (Shirley) Desnoyers of Tennessee, Joseph Lamica of Florida, Scott (Rose) Lamica, and Chad (Bobbi Jo) Lamica both of Malone, his brother; Ralph (Elizabeth) Proper, and sister; Ruth Abair, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Diane, his brothers; Leslie, Lyle, and Kenneth, his sister Hilda Niles and Blanch Proper, a brother-in-law Roy Abair.
