Fran Konkol

Frances "Fran" Konkol, age 90, of Erie passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. Born in Erie on May 13, 1934. She was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Phyllis (D'Aurora) Perfetto.
Fran was a 1952 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She worked at Bucyrus Erie where she met her husband of 61 years, John "Jack" Konkol.
In addition to Erie, Fran and Jack lived in Lincolnshire, England and Hales Coroners, Wisconsin. In 1969 they returned to Erie with their two children where they remained through to retirement.
Fran was a good mother who loved spending time with her extended family and the Italian community. She was a member and past president of the Italian American Woman's Association. Her attendance at association meetings and functions continued to her final days.
For years, Fran and Jack spent winters in Lakeland, Florida where she enjoyed numerous activities and events with friends and family.
Fran was most proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved good conversation and being around people. After Jack passed in 2020, Fran made new friends and stayed in touch with old friends. She played bridge throughout her adult life. The day before she left us, she hosted a bridge gathering at her home.
Besides her husband and parents, Fran was preceded in death by brothers, Dan Perfetto and Tom Perfetto; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Mario Cioccio; and grandson David Konkol.
Fran is survived by her two children Charles Konkol, wife Marianne, of Strongsville, OH and Mary Jo Curtin, husband John, of Erie; grandchildren, John C. Curtin, wife Meghan, Lauren Curtin, and great-grandchildren Josephine and Jack Curtin; siblings, Richard Perfetto, wife Kathy, James Perfetto, wife Karen, sisters-in-law Judy Perfetto, Sue Perfetto, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Brugger Funeral Home & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd, and may attend prayers there on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Paul R.C. Church, 1617 Walnut St. Frances and her husband Jack will be interred at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
