Mathew 25:21
well done, good and faithful servant!
Frances ("Fran") Marie Casados, 75, of Swannanoa, NC, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Fran was born on June 1, 1949 in Denver, CO to the late Joseph and Edith (Paulsen) Casados.
Fran was a strong, independent, and also a very giving woman who lived on her own for many years, fully relying on God to meet her needs. With that said, Fran was not a proud woman, but she knew she had reliance on the Lord and that one day she would be with him. If you had a bad day, you knew you could call her and ask for not just prayer, but to lend an ear.
She retired from Drexel Heritage after more than 20 years of service. She was known for her hard work, laughter, kindness, and artistic abilities. She could free hand sketch people's faces and many other objects of interest.
Fran was blessed with loving friends and extended family – from her church, work, to the western North Carolina community for over five decades. When she wasn't with family, you could always catch her on a phone call with her close friends, laughing her contagious laugh. Fran was known for having integrity, true friendship, fellowship, care, etc.
Fran enjoyed animals, especially birds and adorned her yard with bird feeders and bird baths, so she could not just hear them sing, but watch them through her window and on her front porch.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Marcel (Spivey) Swoveland; sister, Karen Rowe; and brother, Joseph Casados.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jolynn (Robertson) Lenz and spouse, Martin Lenz of Cherry Hills Village, CO, and June Spivey of Swannanoa, NC; sisters, Bonnie Pacheco of Aurora CO, and Kathy (Casados) Mestas of Denver, CO; brother, Timothy Casados; eight grandchildren, Blake Swoveland, Ellen (Lenz) Dyekman, Elisabeth (Bartlett) Huffman, Taylor Swoveland, Izzy Bartlett, Josiah Bartlett, Joan Marèe Lenz, and Hanan Lenz; plus six great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at Biltmore Christ Temple, 260 Fairview Road, Asheville, NC 28803, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 3 p.m. (Eastern)and will be televised via Zoom and recorded for those who are unable to attend in person. For those in attendance, please join the family after the service to exchange Fran stories and provide a hug for support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary in Asheville, NC, https://www.blueridgeaudubon.org/copy-of-beaver-lake-bird-sanctuary.
