Frances Ann Cave, age 67, of Marion, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN with her family by her side.
She was born on October 11, 1956 in Marion, IL, a daughter to Theodore "Ted" Francis and Elizabeth Ann (Webb) Lingle. She married Jerry R. Cave on September 7, 2001 in Murphysboro, IL and together they have shared over 22 years of marriage.
Frances graduated from Marion High School and furthered her education at John A. Logan College where she earned her degree in nursing. She worked in healthcare for various hospitals and care centers throughout Southern Illinois for many years and was a homemaker. Frances hosted a radio program on WDBX 91.1 FM Community Radio of Carbondale for many years – something she was very proud of.
She loved riding motorcycles, traveling with her husband, and was an avid fan of Willie Nelson's music. Above all, Frances loved being a mother and grandmother and was often seen sporting her "Grandmas Rock" shirt. She was known as "Granny Franny" to her grandchildren and she cherished every moment she had with them.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Cave of Marion, IL; her children, Ron (Tracy) Lang and Cayenne (Mike) Haseker, all of Marion, IL and Kara (Alton) Moreland of St. Charles, MO; two step-children, Jasmine Cave (Randy Greer) of Carbondale, IL and Jason (Erin) Briggs of Petaluma, CA; nine grandchildren, Maggie, Carter, Ian, Maddux, Eli, A.J., Wil, Lizzy and Ellie; sister, Sandy (Bruce) Shibles of Denver, CO; two brothers, David (Gina) Lingle of Lexington, IL and Jon (Billie) Lingle of Murfreesboro, TN; two dear nephews, Chad Winters and Patrick Winters, both of Colorado; and several other nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ted Lingle and Elizabeth and John Hartkopf.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
In accordance with her wishes there will be not be any type of public service accorded at this time. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
For those who prefer, memorial donations may be directed to "Finding Forever Animal Rescue." Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL 62959.
