Frances Shively Maxey age 92 of Ferrum passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 7, 1932 a daughter of the late Alvin Shively and Mattie Scott Cobbler and her husband, Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester Maxey; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Maxey; eight brothers, Joe, Lewis, Broadus, A.J., Naaman, Billy, James and Tommy Shively.
She is survived by her son, Robert Maxey; three grandchildren, Missy, Justina and Cody; great-grandchildren, Harley, Hayden, London, Matt, Molly and Marie. She is also survived by her sister, Christine Woods; brothers, Jeff and Jessie Shively and other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Twin Oaks Baptist Church, 2313 Henry Road, Ferrum, VA 24088.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Maple Grove Cemetery with Mr. Richard Shively officiating. Per her request, there will not be a visitation.
