Frances Charlene Kocurek Wheat passed away on April 11, 2025, at the age of 90.
She is survived by her children, Conway Wheat and his wife Connie, and Janet Payne & husband Hoby.
Grandchildren, Ryan Payne and wife Brenda, Jon Paul Wheat and wife Brittney, Kamella Lilly and Taylor Payne.
Great Grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler, & Makenzie Payne. Hadley, Hudson & Hannah Wheat and Greyson & Emmitte Lilly. Great, Great Grandchildren Zander and Xavier.
Frances is also survived by her younger sister Alice Kocurek and Brother-in-Law Jon Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fran is proceeded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gene Wheat, her parents, Willie and Della Kocurek, Brothers, William & Marvin, Sisters, Jane Hill and Joyce Brooks.
Fran was born on December 24,1934 in Rosenberg, Texas. She graduated from Lamar High School in 1952. She married Gene Wheat in Rosenberg on October 27, 1956.
After moving to Burleson, Fran, a second generation florist went to work for Burleson Flowers where she stayed until 1972. At this time, Fran opened Flowers by Fran where her strong will and honesty kept generations of customers loyal to her for more than 50 years until her retirement in 2023.
Fran's second favorite place to be ANY casino, and many miles were added to Hoby's odometer traveling north!!
She did it her way...
