Francesco (Frank) Chiappardi, 78, of Norwalk, died peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025 surrounded by family at Wilton Meadows. He was the beloved husband of Frances (Taccone) Chiappardi for 51 years. Born in Salerno, Italy, the son of the late Giovanni & Rosa (Iovino) Chiappardi, he was also predeceased by two brothers, Mario and Giuseppe.

He attended superior schools in Italy, and enjoyed working with his brother at hotels in Basel, Switzerland. After coming to the US, he worked at Perillos Restaurant, Perkin-Elmer for over 10 years, and more recently, was "The Best Waiter in the World", as any loyal patron of Italia Pizzeria Restaurant can tell you.

He enjoyed his espressos every morning… and afternoon….and evenings. He was also a big fan of Italian soccer team Napoli. He will always be remembered for his generosity and caring personality. There wasn't anything anyone would ask of him that he would not do. He loved and adored his grandchildren beyond words. They were his heart, and the memories of his love for them and everyone he cared for will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his loving wife Frances, son John Chiappardi and his wife Becky of Danbury, daughter Pina DeLuna and her husband Jason of Norwalk, three cherished grandchildren Elianna, Matteo and Aria DeLuna, brother Vincenzo Chiappardi, sister Giulia Somma and her husband Cono as well as many adoring nieces and nephews.

His family would like to thank/acknowledge everyone that sent letters, flowers and caring messages over the past year. They were helpful in dealing with such a trying time.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, Oct 8 from 5-7 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday, Oct 9, at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with entombment to follow at St. John cemetery, Norwalk.

Frank was a pleasant man. We loved seeing him at the restaurant. He always had a smile on his face and making everyone smile. May God grant him peace. Our condolences to his family.

Frank was so very beloved by our entire family (The Tomaselli Family)! I kept meaning to bring my husband to Italia to meet him, he really felt like family from when I was a little girl and even to now! My dad (who passed away in August) and Poppie (who passed in 2002) were definitely waiting to shake his hand at the gates! My condolences to his family and especially his wife I pray that you can find comfort in knowing he touched so many people´s lives and was such a kind loving soul to all he came into contact with! We are praying for you all.
