I didn“t know the doctor but after reading his obituary all I can say is the world could use thousands of men like him in it.
I am from Binghamton and thankful he was also.

Dr. Gilroy left a lasting impression on me. Despite his tall and imposing stature, he exuded kindness and gentleness. His deep baritone voice echoed around the campfire at Camp Tuscarora as he strummed his guitar, leading us in songs during my days as a Boy Scout in Troop 4. He took great pride in our achievements, especially when Mike and our peers achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. In his retirement, he pursued painting, and I was amazed at his skill. Involved in numerous organizations, I imagine he's now in heaven, just as active and productive.
