Beloved Father, Grandfather and
Great Grandfather
LOWELL-Francis Joseph Keefe, 88, a Highlands resident, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Beth Israel Lahey Hospital in Burlington. He was the loving husband of June L. (McBride) Keefe, who passed away on May 7, 2019.
Frank was born in Lowell on November 19, 1936, a son of the late Edward F. and Anna V. (Mitchell) Keefe. He attended the Lowell Schools and was a graduate of Keith Academy. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. For 42 years, Frank was employed by the Lowell Sun Newspaper in sales. While at the Sun, he played on their softball team for many years. He was a communicant of St. Margaret Church and was a member of the Parish St. Vincent de Paul Society and volunteered as a Team Leader for St. Margaret's Church at St. Paul's Soup Kitchen at the Elliot Church. Frank held membership in the Lowell Lodge of Elks, the Tyngsborough American Legion, and was very involved with the Lowell Salvation Army, where he devoted many years fundraising, especially around Christmas time, ringing the bell and spreading Christmas cheer. Frank and his wife June enjoyed traveling together, taking trips to Europe, Turkey and Florida. He was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed basketball and football. Frank cherished his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Frank is survived by his son Francis A. Keefe and his wife Susan G. (Ramalho) Keefe of Tyngsborough; his three grandchildren, Erik F. Keefe and his wife Jacquie of Dracut, Shaun M. Keefe and his fiancée Tanya Donahue, and Alycia D. Keefe, all of Tyngsborough ; four great-grandchildren, Ryley, Teagan, Cherylynn, and Aurora Keefe. He was the great grandfather of the late Allanah Keefe.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND FRANK'S CALLING HOURS ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2025, FROM 3 PM UNTIL 7 PM AT THE FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL. FRANK'S FUNERAL MASS WILL TAKE PLACE ON THURSDAY MORNING AT 10 AM AT ST. MARGARET CHURCH, 374 STEVENS ST. LOWELL. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN ST. MARY'S CEMETERY, TEWKSBURY. AS AN EXPRESSION OF SYMPATHY DONATIONS MAY BE MADE IN FRANK'S MEMORY TO ST. MARGARET'S PARISH
