Francisco "Cisco Kid" E. Borquez, a devoted father, loving life partner, brother and cherished friend, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 74. Born on April 2, 1950, in Esqueda, Sonora, Mexico, Cisco's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, community, and the many pursuits he adored.

A proud 1969 graduate of Pueblo High School in Tucson, Cisco exemplified the spirit of hard work and commitment. He built a successful career as a welder, fabricator, and millwright, bringing to life the skills he honed throughout the years. His passion for being a cowboy shaped many of his interests, from team roping to roundups, and infused his life with joy and purpose. He enjoyed dancing and was known for his talent in playing horseshoes, blending his playful spirit with a zest for life.

Alongside his professional endeavors, Cisco devoted time to coaching youth football, imparting essential life lessons and wisdom to the younger generation. A storyteller at heart, he captivated his audience with engaging tales, sharing the experiences that shaped him throughout his life. He was renowned for his generosity and helpful nature, often putting the needs of others before his own. Cisco’s pride in his children stood as one of his greatest accomplishments, reflecting the profound love he had for his family. He was also a talented artist. 

He leaves behind his beloved children, David F. Borquez, Victor E. Borquez, and Selina L. Borquez; his life partner, Dianna Laguna; and his cherished grandchildren, Cecily, Marissa, Nadia, Nico, Taylor, Hunter, and Phoenix. Cisco also shared enduring bonds with his siblings, Grace, Vickie, Hector, Joey, Leti, and Gilbert stepdaughter, Diane and her children, Yecenia and Michael; along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Cisco was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Josefina Borquez, and his siblings, Eva Alicia, Frausto, and Efrain. His legacy of kindness, community spirit, and love for family will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Visitation will be held on February 28, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a Rosary at 1:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. Cisco's life was a testament to the values of family, service, and joy, and he will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
