Delia Aguilar Ramirez
“PEWA”

Today we say goodbye to a cherished matriarch, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother & friend. Who was the heart of our Family, ascended to heaven June 2, 2025 surrounded by family and friends with immense love.
Born November 21, 1952 to Alberto Altamirano & Dora Aguilar Ramirez. Leaving behind her children Adrian (Vivian) Laguna, Ardie (Herman “Ray Ray”) Wilson, Maria Christina (Keith “KiKi”) Brown, Robert Kane & Dora Duarte. 20 Grandchildren & 13 Great-grandchildren with one on the way. Sister Belen (Johnny) Laguna, Brother Alberto Ramirez. 2 Sister-in-laws Sara Ramirez & Rosa Ramirez. Countless nieces, nephews, godchildren and extended family members and friends.
Proceeded in death by her parents Alberto (Beto) Altamirano & Dora Molina Aguilar Ramierz. Siblings Bertha R Camacho, Arturo Ramirez, Abran Ramirez, Irene (China) R. Gastelum, Her Twin Baby boy (Unnamed), Armando (Mondy) Ramirez & Alfredo (Wilo) Ramirez and great-grand-daughter; Jaliah "Glow-Worm" Willis.
Attempting to summarize her life and the love she shared fells like a daunting task, for she was much more the words can convey. Her love for life and family can be felt by numerous individuals both human and animals. Her love for cooking and baking was always top notch because it was made with lots of love and music had to be playing, from her beans, tortillas, flat enchiladas to her amazing Tamales and here vanilla banana cream cake recipe she stole from her sister with so much more to list. Her doors were always open for anyone who need it no matter what was happening. She was always the life of the party and left an impression whom ever she meets.
Her kindness and always willing to lend a helping hand were infectious just like her smile and love for dancing. A Tucson native all her life attending Utterback and Pueblo high School. From working as a heavy equipment operator in the Pima County Highway and Transportation Department, one of the best one. Upon retiring wanted to do more then began working at the Tucson Zoo in the food court/Concession stand over the years to what it has become now.
Truly Delia “Pewa” Ramirez you will be missed and cannot be replaced and this void will always be there.
Services will be held on June 18, 2025 at Martinez Funeral Chapels 2580 S 6th Ave Tucson AZ 85713 From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with a rosary at 12:00 pm
Thank you Robert Kane
