Frank P. "Junior" Diodati, age 93, of Gloucester, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra I. (Brandano) Diodati, with whom he shared sixty-eight years of devoted and joyful marriage.
Born in Lawrence, MA, Frank was the son of the late Francesco Paolo and Maria (Casale) Diodati. He was one of fourteen brothers and sisters. He was raised in a close-knit Italian- American family and educated in the Lawrence public school system, graduating from Lawrence High School. Shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Frank served honorably during the Korean Conflict, a period of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, patriotism, and resilience-qualities that would define his character throughout his life.
Upon returning home from military service, Frank resumed life in Lawrence, where he would soon meet the love of his life, Sandra. Their courtship blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and they were married two years later. Together, they began their family in Lawrence and Haverhill before settling in Lexington, where they raised their children and built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring values. In their later years, Frank and Sandra retired to Gloucester, where they embraced the serenity of coastal living, formed lasting friendships, and found joy in the beauty of the sea.
Frank was a man of many passions. A gifted and enthusiastic cook, he delighted in preparing meals for family and friends, often bringing loved ones together around the table with his culinary talents. He was also a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and held season tickets for many years alongside his brothers, cheering on his team with unwavering loyalty.
Above all, Frank was a family man. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a constant source of love, wisdom, and support.
In addition to his beloved wife, Sandra, Frank is survived by his loving children: Lisa Diodati-Gately of Franklin; Frank Diodati and his wife Nina of Gloucester, MA; Valerie Salvucci and her husband Paul of Waltham; and Magda Aliberti and her husband Peter of Everett, MA. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Francis, Kristine, Jessica, Jacqueline, Billy, Paolo, Jared and his wife Erin, and Nicholas and his wife Tessa. Great Grandfather to Tyler, Julianna, Kaylyn, Kyle, Nathan, Ashlyn, Axel and Wesley. He is also survived by his cherished siblings: Rita Teoli, Bobby Diodati, and Peter Diodati
Frank was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Dante Diodati, and his son-in-law, Craig Gately.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will take place at St. Mary - Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Methuen.
