It is with great sadness that the family of Frank Keith Ellison of Hooper, UT announces his passing on July 5, 2023, at the age of 80. Frank was surrounded by his loving family, who never left his side.
Frank was born in Ogden, UT to Cecil and Rosetta Ellison on July 17, 1942. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Hooper 3rd Ward for most of his life.
Frank met his soulmate, Pat Anne Jones, at a very young age, fell in love and had four wonderful children; they have been happily married for 61 precious years. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Frank graduated from Weber High School and Weber State College. He enjoyed a long career in various roles at Hill Air Force Base. His favorite job was working as an Avionics Technician supporting the F-16 Aircraft Radar System. He valued the comradery and friendships formed during his career.
Frank was a do-it-yourselfer, and built multiple homes for his growing family. He loved the outdoors, and cherished his time hunting, fishing, golfing and ATV adventures with his family. Frank was the happiest when surrounded by family at either Flaming Gorge or Star Valley, Wyoming. He had an amazing talent for woodworking; more recently you could find him sitting at his wood carving desk, creating treasured gifts for his children and grandchildren. Frank also took great pride in teaching the skills he acquired through the years. His guiding hand, sense of humor, and endless patience were a gift that created a legacy of self-reliance that can’t be measured.
Frank navigated some trying health issues for the last three decades. He fought a valiant fight to the end. His family would like to express their gratitude to the Heart Failure Team at Murray Hospital, especially Alison Wynne, NP and Dr. Butschek “Boots” for their care and compassion. We would like to also express our gratitude to Dr. Whisenant for having faith, against all odds, and giving our family three additional precious years with Frank.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Pat Jones Ellison; son, Bart (Stephanie) Ellison; daughters, Tammie (Jeff) Obray, Stacie (Patrick) Grieco, and Amanda (Ty) Seager, all of Hooper. He is also survived by his brother, Gary (Deaun) Ellison of Ogden and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his special dog, Sadie. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clifford; and sisters, Darlene and Marion.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 3rd Ward Chapel, 5601 South 6100 West Hooper, UT.
