Frank Kloss Jr.

Frank Kloss, Jr. passed away at the age of 84, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, after a very courageous battle with Parkinson's disease for over 10 years. He was born on October 8, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Hilda (Ratatori) Weber and Frank Kloss, Sr. He grew up in Milwaukee, and enjoyed summers with family in Manitou Springs, Colorado. He graduated from South Division High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served in the Strategic Air Command Border Patrol from 1957-1961, and was stationed for 2 years in French Morocco.

Frank returned stateside and married his sweetheart Jeanette "Jan" Rose (Zavattaro) Kloss on April 25, 1959. They lived near his Air Force base in Bunker Hill, Indiana, where they had a daughter, Karry Ann. After completing his time in the service, they returned to Milwaukee, where Frank began working as a welder at Ladish Company in Cudahy. In the following years, they had two sons, Kurt Lee and Kreg K.

Frank got his associate degree in welding, and went on to teach welding night courses at Milwaukee Area Technical College. He always strived to be a great provider for his family, often working additional jobs when needed.

Always an adventurer, Frank enjoyed stock car racing, scuba diving, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. Favorite family memories include extensive camping trips to Canada, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, as well as trips to the family cabin in Lakewood, WI. Pets were also always an important part of his life, and the family had several beloved dogs and cats over time.

In retirement, Frank and Jan enjoyed lake living in Waterford, as well as at their cabin. They would go on to welcome two granddaughters, Aubrey and Kaylee, with whom they always enjoyed visits. They even found the inspiration to quit smoking in order to watch them grow up.

Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Weber, and her loving husband, Edward Weber, as well as his father, Frank Kloss, Sr., and sisters Shirley Muhich and Jacqueline (Kloss) LaVora.

He is survived by his loving wife Jan Kloss, his children, Karry (Bob) Roberts, Kurt Kloss, and Kreg Kloss, and granddaughters Aubrey Roberts and Kaylee Roberts. He will also be missed by many other dear relatives and friends.

The family is very grateful to the nurses and nurses' aides at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove, who cared for him and always kept him entertained. They also wish to thank the whole staff at the Zablocki Veterans' Hospital, who over many years provided him excellent medical service and always encouraged his determined spirit.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, at the FUNERL HOME from 3:00 PM-4:30 PM with a prayer service at 4:30pm. Military Honors and interment will be held on Monday, April 18, at 2:00 PM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, please meet at the cemetery grounds.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Wisconsin Chapter would be greatly appreciated.
