Alfred George Kloss, 85, a longtime Lake County resident, passed away peacefully at his home on February 17, 2025. Born in Chicago to Alfred and Evelyn Kloss, he was a Northwestern University graduate and enjoyed a successful career at Underwriters Laboratories before establishing his own consulting firm. A devoted family man, Alfred cherished annual summer vacations and later explored the world with his wife, Janice. In his retirement, he found joy as a substitute teacher at Lake Forest High School. His love for the arts was evident in his appreciation for the Chicago Symphony and Opera, and he found solace in his woodworking shop and enjoyed spending time in his yard and garden. A member of St. Joseph Parish in Harvard and formerly of St. Mary Parish in Lake Forest. Alfred will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife Janice of 60 years; his dearest daughters Amanda (Brad) Jarzabek and Candice Kloss; his cherished grandsons James and Joseph; his sister Carol (Michael) Lane; and his dear family friend Erik Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Frank Kloss and Aunt Stella Roberts.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. Please check www.libertyvillefuneralhome.com for updates.
