It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Viktor Chetverikov, who died on Friday, August 15 at the age of 79 in Glenview, Illinois. Viktor was born on May 1, 1946 in Donetsk, Ukraine to Melania Chetverikova. He spent most of his life in Donetsk during its time as part of the former Soviet Union before later immigrating to the United States. He attended trade school and spent over 30 years working as a Lathe Operator at the Donetsk Physics Technology Institute, where he built prototypes for scientists' inventions. He was known for his strong work ethic and kindness. After retiring and moving to the United States, he devoted his time to his family, helping to raise his grandchildren and finding joy in their everyday lives. He also loved spending time with his beloved cat, who brought him comfort and companionship in his later years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alla Chetverikova; son, Roman (Olga) Chetverikov; and 2 grandchildren, Melanie (Anton) Shugaliy, and Ethan Chetverikov. He was preceded in death by his son, Pavel Chetverikov, and by his mother, Melania Chetverikova. A funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 19 at 10:30AM at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville. A memorial lunch to celebrate his life will be held following the funeral at Tandoor Samsa at 1:00PM in Buffalo Grove. Viktor's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
