In Loving Memory of Frank Earl Maxwell Jr.
September 1, 1928 – April 24, 2025
With deep love and respect, we announce the passing of Frank Earl Maxwell Jr., on April 24, 2025, at the age of 96.
Born on September 1, 1928, Frank Earl lived a life marked by devotion, discipline, and a steadfast commitment to his family, his work, and his faith. He was preceded in death by his dearly loved wife of 69 years, Janie Lou, with whom he shared a life of deep partnership and enduring love. The two were married in 1951 and built a legacy together that continues through their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
From 1950 to 1952, Frank Earl proudly served his country as a lieutenant in the United States Army. His time in service was defined by leadership and dedication, especially in training others with the precision and integrity that would carry into every area of his life. After his service, he returned home to take over his father's hardware store, managing it with care and success for over three decades.
Frank Earl was a co-founder of Allied Building Stores, playing a foundational role in its creation and growth. He was also instrumental in the founding of Ouachita Independent Bank. His sharp intellect, deep knowledge of accounting, and unwavering work ethic left a lasting imprint on his community's economic landscape.
Gifted with a natural ability in mathematics, Frank Earl was deeply intelligent and always eager to learn. Well into his later years, he remained proficient with computers-embracing technology with the same discipline he brought to every part of life.
Alongside Janie Lou, Frank Earl traveled the world, visiting every country together-a remarkable testament to their adventurous spirit and deep bond. In his retirement, he took joy in investing in the stock market and the strategic challenge of playing bridge, both of which he pursued with the same focus and thoughtfulness that defined him.
Frank Earl's life was deeply rooted in responsibility and care. Above all, he made sure his family was always taken care of providing stability, wisdom, and quiet strength across generations. Though serious by nature, his presence was deeply felt and respected by all who knew him.
He was a devoted and active member of Delhi Methodist Church until the end of his life, living his beliefs through humble service and unwavering faith.
Frank Earl is survived by his two devoted children, Jan and Frank III; six grandchildren, Levi (Allison), Layne (Macon), Max (Laura), Whitley (Alex), Frank IV, and Annabelle (Alex); and four great-grandchildren, Janie Belle, Clyde, Adeline, and Teddy. His legacy of intellect, discipline, and devotion lives on in each of them.
Frank Earl Maxwell Jr. now rests in peace, reunited with his beloved Janie Lou, after a long, rich, and meaningful life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Delhi Methodist Church in Delhi, LA with Rev. Marshall Sevier officiating.
