Frankie Joe Fuson, known affectionately as Frank to his friends and family, passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 70, in his hometown of San Angelo, Texas, due to a cardiac event. Born on July 14, 1954, to the late Claude Fuson and Genevieve Bannert, Frank was a lifelong resident of San Angelo, where he built a life rich in love, laughter, and community.
Frank graduated from Lakeview High School and embarked on a career that would span several decades as a journeyman plumber. He dedicated many years of service to Angelo State University before his well-earned retirement. His work was not just a job but a testament to his skill, reliability, and the strong relationships he built with colleagues and those he served throughout his career.
In 1983, Frank married Brenda, and together they celebrated 42 years of life. Frank had two daughters, Jessica and Jennifer (and husband John), who blessed them with granddaughters Jordan and Madison. Frank's role as a Papa was one he cherished deeply, and his granddaughters were the light of his life. He often said that being a Papa was his greatest joy and he relished every moment spent with his girls.
A man of many interests, Frank was an avid collector of hidden treasures, always on the lookout for unique finds at flea markets. He had a passion for travel, which took him across the nation. In his quiet moments, he could be found immersed in a book about history, his curiosity about the past as endless as time itself. Frank also had a talent for cooking, often delighting his family with delicious meals and treats.
Frank's presence was a source of stability and warmth. His quick wit, generous spirit, and the stories he told will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. He was a man who lived his life with integrity. Frank's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless lives he touched.
Though he has joined his parents, as well as his siblings, David Fuson, Steven Fuson, Michael Williams, and Genevieve Pike, in the great beyond, Frank's spirit remains as vibrant as ever. His nieces, nephews, and the close friends who became family will continue to share the stories that Frank so generously left behind.
As we say goodbye to Frank, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey complete, and a rest well-deserved. He will be deeply missed, but his light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him.
