As a neighbor for 21 years Lady Nita and I were blest to know Fred and Mae as friends. Our prayers are for the family and live in hope there will be a future reunion day promised by the Old Testament prophets who declared a Messiah will come and make all things new. Sincerely. Terry Wiles, Bishop

It was with great sorrow that I read of Mr. Kaprove´s passing but I celebrate the fact that he lived such a long and fulfilling life. Mr. Kaprove was my fifth grade teacher at Pleasant Valley School in South Windsor. He was also the first male teacher I had in school. His style of teaching was so different from any other teacher I had had thus far and it was his example that made me want to be a teacher. For the first time, he empowered us to `think outside of the box´. We became partners in the educating of our fellow students and in doing so, learned the material enough to teach it to the class. He encouraged theater and creative ways to demonstrate what we were learning. Other teachers had us memorize facts and regurgitate those facts back to them in tests. That was not Mr. Kaprove´s style.
I taught high school for 35 years and after my retirement, opened my own preschool which I´ve had for the past 15 years. I love teaching and one of my biggest regrets is that I never tracked him down to tell him how much he meant to me.

Many happy memories of playing golf with Fred at Ellington Ridge CC. He and Mae were dear friends of my late parents Milton and Selma Stein. May his memory be a blessing
