Fred L. Murray, Jr. age 69 of St. Thomas, PA, passed away at The Gardens of Gettysburg on Friday, October 4, 2024. Born March 5, 1955, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Fred and Shirley F. Carmack Murray.
Fred was a 1973 graduate of the James Buchanan High School. He worked as an Auto Cad Designer at BrinJac and as a maintenance supervisor at Olympic Steel for many years. He was a member of the St. Thomas American Legion and the St. Thomas Rod and Gun Club. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Murray enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are two daughters, LaRae Kalathas (husband Dr. Nick G.) of Chambersburg, PA and LaShay Kalathas (husband Nick T.) of Fairfield, PA; ten grandchildren, Dimitra, Athanasia, Athanasios, Mikahlis, Nikoletta, Nyla, Tiera, Niko, Dexter, and Lambriny; and a brother, Randy Murray.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 3 PM in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in St. Thomas Cemetery.
