Frederic E. Mascolo, 93, of Southbury, formerly of Waterbury, CT, entered into the gates of heaven on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Watermark at East Hills in Southbury. He was the loving husband of Irene (Zoli) Mascolo of 67 years.
Fred was born in Waterbury on July 24, 1929, son of the late Honorable Edward and Clelia (Menichino) Mascolo. Fred was a graduate of Seton Hall University, BS and the Georgetown University Law Center, JD. He was a member of the Connecticut and Waterbury Bar Associations for over 50 years, and a former Probate Judge for Waterbury, Middlebury and Wolcott for multiple terms.
Fred was an avid sports fan of all sports but had a passion for baseball. He was part of a partnership that brought the Los Angeles Dodgers AA franchise to Waterbury, the Waterbury Dodgers, 1973-1976.
Besides his beloved wife Irene of Southbury, Fred leaves behind to cherish his memory his two sons, Edward D. Mascolo and his wife Heidi of Fairfield, Frederic D. Mascolo of Edgartown, MA, as well as his three grandsons, Chase, Reed, and Cole Mascolo. He was predeceased by his siblings, Edward G. Mascolo, Virginia Battista, and Helen Sirica.
Arrangements: All funeral services for Fred are going to be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Fred will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury with full military honors. Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, has been entrusted with handling Fred's funeral arrangements.
