Frederick "Fred" Michael McGuire, 71, of Columbia, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, born March 29, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Bria of Columbia.
Fred was retired from the Casino Queen in East St. Louis, IL. He was a member of Teamsters Local 525 in Alton, IL. Fred loved to go fishing and he loved to cook. He was a very avid server of people and was very unselfish, kind, and forgiving. He would help anyone that he knew needed it. He had a good sense of humor and keep people laughing with his puns and jokes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick H. and Christina, nee Giratos, McGuire and a sister, Charlene McGuire.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl, nee Sexton, McGuire; his daughters, Amy (Peter) McGuire Karnowski and Kristen McGuire, both of Columbia, IL; a brother, Kenneth Lee (Christine) McGuire of Florida; and a sister, Barbara Porter of St. Louis, MO. He was also a dear uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend.
Memorials contributions may be made to the family.
In following Fred's wishes, a private cremation was to be held. A Celebration of Life Service will be planned at a later date. Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia, Illinois was entrusted with the care of Mr. McGuire.

Fred,you were the best brother n law anyone could ask for. And you we're the best husband, dad & friend anyone could ask for. 50 years i knew you and I'm proud to say i did. Now you can go fishing every day anywhere you want to. And you can do it free of pain or worry. I love you Fred and i will miss you greatly. Until we meet again.
