Frederick F. "Sookie" Raymond, 86, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at home under the care of his family. He was the husband of Virginia A. (Rebello) Raymond for 63 years.

Born in Randolph, a son of the late Frederick and Mary (Kairis) Raymond and Stepson of the late Elmore "Al" Comstock, he was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School Class of 1958.

Fred was a veteran of the US Navy during peacetime and served on the USS Forrestal Aircraft Carrier as an Airman and was honorably discharged.

After, he enrolled in trade school where he concentrated his studies in plumbing. He began his journeyman apprentice with Hamilton and Mahoney as well as Digoli and Baroni Plumbing of Stoughton.

A Journey Plumber who took pride in his work, he was the proprietor of Fred Raymond Plumbing and Heating of Stoughton for 40 years. In his retirement he worked part-time for Anania Plumbing & Heating of Brockton.

Fred was a member of the Union Local 051 of Providence and was a former member of the Son's of Italy in Stoughton.

Fred was fortunate in his retirement to spend winters with his wife in Vero Beach, Florida where he would be enjoying fishing and relaxing by the pool and beach.

Fred was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed family and friend's gatherings throughout the years. He took pride in maintaining a clean and neat yard while enjoying landscaping.

He enjoyed many years of relaxing by his pool in Stoughton, and traveling to Bermuda, Florida, Aruba, Bahamas, Spain and Italy with friends.

Fred was often seen with a scratch ticket in his hand and always seemed to have the magic touch when playing the slots at the casino.

Mostly, Fred appreciated family and watching his six grandchildren grow-up, often praising them for their accomplishments.

In addition to his wife Virginia, he is survived by two sons, Frederick F. Raymond and his wife Jean (Sestito) Raymond of Milton and Stephen R. Raymond of Easton; his siblings, Richard Raymond of FL., and Jean Fitzpatrick of Stoughton; six grandchildren, Christine Raymond and her husband Michael Allen of Alexandria, VA., Katherine "Katie" Raymond of Milton, Kayla Raymond of Easton, Jacqueline Raymond of Easton, Courtney Raymond of Easton and Sean Raymond of Easton; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, Easton at 10:00 a.m. Interment military honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
