Frederick W Weierstall

It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of Frederick W. Weierstall on Sunday, November 3, 2025. He was currently a resident of Ogdensburg, NJ. He was predeceased by his beloved life partner of 45 years, J.G. Harris. He was the devoted brother of Richard and Lois Weierstall. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Emily (nee Haughey). He was also the proud parent of Annie, Belle, and Bara. Fred was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ attended PS #8 graduated from Emerson High School after relocating to Union City, NJ. Later, he was a resident of River Edge and Maywood, NJ in Bergen County. He attained an undergraduate BS from Rutgers University '63 and MS in Human Resources from Upsala College '69 and later was professionally certified as SPHR. Employment started with AT&T between high school and college, then Jersey City Medical Center after college, Beecham, Inc. and later Smith Kline Beecham until retirement in December of 1990. An independent consultant after retirement and later employed with SCREEN (USA) in New Jersey and Rolling Meadows, Illinois in HR & Benefits / Administration. He served proudly for 23 years in the NJ Army National Guard, 50th Armored Division & retired as a Major-MSC (Medical Service Corp) – US Army. Fred was active in a variety of causes during his life in Sussex County, serving with Catholic Family Services as a Meals-on-Wheels and Hope House Buddy volunteer program, County Senior Outreach, and NJ State Ombundsman for the Nursing Home Bound, he was also active with the Hardyston Historical Society. Family and friends are invited to visit Sunday 1-5PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10AM at St. Peter the Apostle RC Church, River Edge. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers donations in Fred's name to a charity of your choosing are appreciated by the family.
