Gail Lynne Knowles

Gail Lynne Knowles, 70, of Crawfordsville, IN passed away at Mulberry Health & Retirement Center in Mulberry, IN Wednesday Sept. 7, 2022 at 6:37 AM. She was born in Crawfordsville, IN the daughter of Delta Mae Clore Owens and the late Irvin Junior Owens. She was a 1970 graduate of Southwestern High School in Tippecanoe County. Her marriage was to Russell E. Knowles in Lafayette, IN March 20, 1988, and he survives. Gail was self employed and operated a framing shop from her residence. She was a member of Grace and Mercy Ministries of Crawfordsville. Surviving with her husband is her mother, Delta Owens of Mulberry, IN; a daughter, Angela R. Jewell (Mark) of Bakersfield, CA; a son, Eric D. Shaw (Lori) of Lafayette, IN and a sister Susan L. Meadows-Hayenga of Lafayette, IN. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Madyson Shaw, Gabbie Jewell, Daniele Jewell and Bae'lee Jewell. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel S. Owens. She is also survived by numerous life long friendships that she cherished. Gail was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 15 and credits her longevity to the care she received from her much-loved endocrinologists Dr. John Poulos and Dr. Shannon Oates. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden, IN from 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Saturday September 10, Pastor Peg Miller officiating. The interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery at Romney. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
