Gary P. Carpenter, age 67, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 23, 2025. He was born in Erie on May 23, 1957, son of the late Paul and Betty Carpenter.
Gary was a 1975 graduate of Academy High School and then served in the US Marine Corps. He was the third-generation owner of Carpenter Electric Supply, Inc., where he worked since 1972. Gary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and was a former deacon and usher. He was also a former member of the Erie Thunderbirds, Erie Maennerchor Club, Erie Rotary Club, and Sons of the American Revolution. He was an animal lover and enjoyed boating and camping and was always up for a road trip. Gary was very involved in all his kids' activities and was a beloved family man. He was known as a storyteller, full of words of wisdom and a collector of many things.
Gary is survived by his wife of 34 years, Connie (Maille) Carpenter; three children, Lisa (Sean Sweany), Sara and Paul; and one sister, Debra; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Thursday, February 27th from 3 to 7 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Friday, February 28th, at 11 am conducted by Rev. Britney Knight. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Millcreek Post 773.
