Gary Lee Hogshooter, 57, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in Miami, Oklahoma. He was born on March 20, 1965 in Grove, Oklahoma; the son of Robert Hogshooter and Jessie Lee Coker (Vann). Gary worked most of his life doing odd jobs and helping those he could. He was proud of his Cherokee culture and always enjoyed anything relating to the Cherokee heritage. Most of all, Gary loved his family and looked forward to anytime he had to spend with them. He was especially proud to be the #1 uncle to his nieces and nephews. He leaves his family much too soon and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor with Reverend Stanley Grass officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Gary is survived by his wife, Angela Hodge of Pryor, Oklahoma; son, Gary Don Hogshooter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers, David Hogshooter and Sammie Hogshooter; sisters, Darlene Eglian, Renee Pickel, and Naomi Hogshooter; 4 grandchildren, Andrew Carter, Maria Carter, Emilia Carter, and Delilah Hogshooter; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Hogshooter and Jessie Coker; sisters, Mary Ann Smoke and Sheila Jumper; and brothers, Robert James Hogshooter, Walter Allen Hogshooter, and Ronald Ray Hogshooter.
