Graveside funeral services for Mr. Gary McMillan, 62, of Carthage, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Reeves McMillan Cemetery with Rev. Dale Walker officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home.
Mr. Gary Dean McMillan was born May 15, 1961, in Pasadena, Texas. He passed this life June 16, 2023, at his Carthage, Texas home. Gary was one of two children born to the marriage of Denny Joe and Betty Rose Stamps McMillan. He was raised in the Baptist faith, schooled in Angleton, Texas graduating Angleton High School with the class of 1979.
Mr. McMillan attended trade school at TSTI, worked as a certified diesel mechanic, and supervised operations at Dow Chemical. He loved hunting, cars, photography, and music.
Mr. McMillan is survived by his parents, Denny and Betty McMillan of Angleton; daughter, Jaclyn McMillan Dalida and husband Chad of Poetry; sister, Debra Veatch and husband R.J. of Angleton and their children, Remi Coates and Ariel Brock, Katherine Coates, Chaeli Veatch, and Violet Coates; many other relatives and a host of friends. The family requests memorials in his name to Hawthorn Funeral Home for expenses.
