Gary John Mehok

Gary John Mehok of St. Augustine, FL, formerly of North Braddock, PA, age 60, passed away suddenly on December 19, 2025.

Gary was the beloved son of the late William and Mary Catherine Mehok. He was the loving brother of Nadine Mehok of North Versailles, PA; Bill (Denise) Mehok of West Homestead, PA; Doreen (Dennis) Lucas of St. Augustine, FL; and Ken (Mary) Mehok of Munhall, PA. He was also the cherished nephew of Dorothy (Edward) Datemasch of Plum Borough, PA; Maureen (the late Harry) Fry of Munhall, PA; and Arlene (John) Gannon of Atlanta, GA. Gary is also survived by his close nephews, Ryan and Brandon Lucas of St. Augustine, Florida, along with extended family and his special friends, Rick, Lou, and Linda Larson of St. Augustine. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born and raised in North Braddock, PA, Gary was a proud graduate of the Woodland Hills School District, Swissvale High School, Class of 1983. Gary was currently employed at Circle K in St. Augustine, where he enjoyed the daily banter with his co-workers and customers. Known for his friendly spirit and sense of humor, Gary often said his dream was to hit the lottery. While he never had a big monetary payout, he truly hit the lottery in life by having the unwavering love and support of his family.

A devoted sports fan, Gary loved all sports but especially followed the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He also enjoyed participating in Fantasy Football as a way to stay connected with family and friends. In 2017, Gary moved to Norcross, GA, and later relocated to St. Augustine, FL. Although he no longer resided in the Pittsburgh area, his heart always remained there.

A Funeral Mass will be held on January 12 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, St. Augustine, FL, immediately followed by a reception in Celebration Hall. All are welcome. Interment will take place at All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Braddock Hills, PA.
