Gary David Pierson

Gary D. Pierson, passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 68, with his family by his side. Gary was the son of David and Patricia Pierson. He was born in Corning, NY where he had married the love of his life and raised his family.
Gary was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend.
After high school, he went to college and then attended an umpiring school in Daytona, FL. Gary worked at Corning Inc. for 42 years as a machinist and later as a scheduler/planner before he retired.
Gary enjoyed sports, bowling, baseball, and golf. He was involved in Little League for 22 years. Golf was his favorite pastime. He enjoyed being at the course with his friends and going on his annual golf trips. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Elk's Club.
Gary is survived by his wife, Shelly; son, Joshua; daughter, Crystal (Bobby) Watson; sisters, Teri Wallis and Kelly (Steve) Hakes; brother, James Pierson; brother and sister-in-law, Marcie (Scott) Duge; grandson, Casey (Kaitlyn) Watson; great-grandchildren, Finneus and Stella Watson; nieces, Paige, Bryce, Sydney, Lisa, Neva, Rena, Dana, and many friends. Gary was predeceased by his parents, father-in-law, Harold Heckman, and mother-in-law, Doris Heckman.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney Street, Corning, NY on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
