So sad to hear about Gary's passing. I got a chance to spend some time with the Gary and Bros a few years ago at our UT tailgate. Gary was humble and grateful as always. I have many memories of Gary as a teammate starting in Little League baseball in Pecos. We were both on the Dodgers LL team and all I can remember is me pitching and Gary playing shortstop and sending me pitching signs to throw my curve ball almost every other pitch. It nearly ruined my less than average pitching arm! He was definitely one the best athletes to come out of Pecos. And he did it with a humbleness and gracefulness.
Prayers for the family! May Gary RIP.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news of Gary´s passing. Though it had been years since I had seen him, I was looking forward to seeing him and his brothers again one of these days. I was a bit older than all of the Rogers boys, but always felt like they were all "one of our own." We had a street full of good athletes who loved nothing better than playing football, basketball, or baseball all the time. We called ourselves the Wyoming (Street) Wildcats and we would take on all who wanted to play. The older Wildcats could tell early on that the Rogers boys were all going to be great athletes and there were some who thought Gary just might wind up being the best of the bunch.

Their parents did a great job raising these boys. They were not only great athletes, but they were really great kids who had good manners, were courteous and respectful, kind to others, and completely family-oriented. You never saw these 3 fighting with each other. All the older Wildcats were as proud of these 3 as we could be.

We loved Gary and we loved his family. All of the old Wyoming Street is grieving now, I can guarantee. Our prayers will go out to his family, old and new. Our loss is Heaven´s gain.

Gary, we will see you again, my little buddy.
