Gary Lee Walker, a devoted husband, loving father, and hardworking soul, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Perry, Georgia, at the age of 74. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Gary was the son of the late Stan Butler and the late Reba Mae Cooper Walker. Though life brought him far from his birthplace, he carried with him a strong work ethic, quiet kindness, and deep love for his family and community wherever he went. Gary was married for 50 beautiful years to his beloved wife, Teresa Fosha Walker, with whom he built a life full of love, laughter, and shared devotion. Their partnership was a true testament to enduring love. Gary's legacy lives on through his wife Teresa, and his cherished daughters, Lesley Walker Longbine (John) of Fort Valley, GA, and Ashley Walker of Perry, GA. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and a delighted great-grandfather to one. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Debbie Johns of Albany, GA, and Brenda Clark of Columbus, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Jeffrey Scott Walker. Gary had a true gift with his hands and a mind for mechanics. A master mechanic by trade and a self-employed truck driver by profession, Gary took pride in a hard day's work and could fix just about anything with a wrench and determination. He also attended Georgia Tech, where he built a strong foundation that served him well in his work and life. Beyond his profession, Gary's joy was found in the simple things-farming the land, casting a line on a quiet morning, and coaching kids in sports, where his gentle encouragement and firm belief in doing your best left a lasting impression on many young lives. Gary Lee Walker will be remembered for his steady strength, generous heart, and quiet dedication to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the fields he tended, the engines he repaired, and the family he so deeply cherished. A life well lived, a man well loved. With honor and respect, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
