Gaspar J. Interrante

Gaspar Interrante Jr. passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born April 19, 1939 in Gloucester. He was the son of the late Gaspar and Rose (Friscia) Interrante. He was the beloved husband of the late Sarah (Sabato) Interrante with whom he shared 56 years of marriage before her passing in 2018.
A Gloucester native, Gaspar was known to many family and friends as Ivanhoe, Ivy, Gap, and Junior. In 1956, at the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served until November 19, 1962. He married his wife Sarah on May 6th, of the same year.
Gaspar owned a well-respected family plastering business for over 50 years. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriot's fan, he loved his Good Harbor Beach Days, his trips to Aruba and his house full of family and friends. He loved telling stories to anyone that would listen. The most important thing in Gaspar's life was his family. His grandchildren were the love of his life.
He is survived by one daughter, Michele Cooper and her husband Robert of Gloucester; two sister-in-laws, Lena Anderson and Joanne Interrante and one brother-in-law, Leo Sabato all of Gloucester; four grandchildren, Kaya, Cammi, Cade and Jesse; and many nieces and nephews who he adored.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by two sons, Gaspar III and Frankie Interrante; two sisters, Jennie Interrante, and Catherine Curcuru, and her husband Phil; six brothers, Charles and wife Phyllis, James and wife Mary, Joseph, John and wife Betty, Anthony and Samuel Interrante; in-laws Fred and Josie Sallah, Sam and Katie Ciolino, John Anderson and Rosalie Sabato.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Kaplan House, his niece Annette and staff at Ledgewood Nursing Home and his home health aide Cassandra Jewell.
Visiting hours will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, on Friday, July 12th from 4pm to 6:30pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
