Genevia "GG" Steele Powers, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and joy. Born with a free spirit and a boundless heart, GG lived her life to the fullest, touching countless lives along the way.
A proud Majorette at Campbell High School and a graduate of Fairburn High School's Class of 1953, GG's outgoing nature and vibrant personality shone brightly from her youth. Her passion for celebrating life's milestones led her to establish a wedding catering business, where she lovingly crafted wedding cakes for many in the community. She later opened Genevia's Bridal and Formal, a cherished local shop that connected her deeply to families during their most special occasions.
GG's devotion to family and community was evident in all she did. She was a member of Berea Christian Church, where her kindness and willingness to help anyone in need reflected her strong faith. She loved to travel, but her greatest joy was always found in the company of her family and friends. Cooking was her love language, and she delighted in preparing meals that nourished both body and soul.
For over 20 years, GG dedicated herself as a food nutritionist at Mt. Carmel Personal Care, where she combined her expertise with compassion, ensuring that those in her care were treated with dignity and warmth. Her work was not just a profession but an extension of her lifelong commitment to serving others.
GG married young, raised her children with devotion, and still embraced life with a spirited energy that never dimmed. She was a pillar of her community, a kind soul who gave freely of herself, and a woman whose laughter, generosity, and love will be remembered by all who knew her.
Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the traditions she created, and the family she cherished. Genevia "GG" Steele Powers will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, faith, and joy.
