Genevieve Lutterman was born January 5, 1927 the daughter of Claus and Anna (Schoneman) Julius in Sibley, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm near Sibley and graduated from Sibley High School in 1945.

After high school Genevieve worked for a short time as a candy striper, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She worked at Ben Franklin then at Campbell Soup Company.

On March 12, 1949, Genevieve was united in marriage to George Lutterman at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Parsonage south of Rushmore. Together they made their home on a farm outside of Wilmont, Minnesota. They were blessed with seven children. Genevieve was a hard-working farm wife who enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She would butcher chickens in the morning and have them on the table at noon along with vegetables from her garden and fresh home-made bread. She and George lived on the farm until 2008 when they moved into Fulda. George passed away in March of 2011.

Genevieve was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmont, MN for most of her life, where she was also a member of the Ladie’s Aid. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, baking, fishing trips with her friends, camping and fishing with her family and card games. She loved everyone and was genuinely interested in getting to know each person she met. She had a sharp mind, and never forgot anything. Her family remembers her as a hard working and loving mom and grandma.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dennis Lutterman of Gayville, SD, Jeffrey (Cynthia) Lutterman of Fulda, MN; daughters, Marsha (Wayne) Van Roekel of Sheldon, IA, Judy (John) Kuhl of Buffalo, MN, Karen (Steven) Banken of Lakeland Shores, MN; daughter-in-law, Jill Lutterman of Worthington, MN; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer (Erin) Campbell, Emily Van Roekel, Hayley (Sam) Brandl, Tom Kuhl (fiancé Brittany), Benjamin (Jessa) Lutterman, Robert (Ashley) Kuhl, Angela Lutterman, Phillip Banken, Mitchell Banken; 12 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Shirlene Grote of Sibley, IA; two sisters-in-law, Faye Julius and Audrey Julius of Sibley, IA; along with many extended family and friends.
