Georganna Thomas, age 93, of Nashville, TN passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levy Wilson Thomas and D. Rotha Cook Thomas, her older brother D. Wilson (Dorothy) Thomas; her sister, Hollis Belle (Paul) Thomas Brown; and niece Paula Anne Brown. She is survived by a younger brother, Lowell Evans (Penny) Thomas of Maine. She is also survived by nephews: Gary Brown, Michael Thomas, Charlie Thomas, Craig Thomas and nieces: Donna Brown Habegger and Angela Thomas and 8 great nieces and nephews, 11 great-great nieces and nephews, along with many cousins and friends. She was born in Macon County, Lafayette, TN on May 14, 1932. She attended grammar school in Lafayette and high school in Gallatin, TN, graduating from Gallatin High School in 1950. She worked as a secretary at Guaranty Title Company in Nashville until her mid-twenties and soon after moved to Washington, DC living there 33 years working for the Federal Government in the Navy, Federal Aviation and Transportation departments. She returned to Nashville in 1993 and began another career working for the State of Tennessee as an administrative secretary in the Office of Finance & Administration. After retiring from the state she worked as a volunteer at St. Thomas Hospital West. She was a member of Bellevue Church of Christ and Key to the City Club. She enjoyed and studied oil painting and completed a number of paintings and had a unique love for birds, owning parakeets for many years. She also loved the beach and spent many vacations along the east coast over the years and visiting friends from her time in DC.
