George Theodor Avgeris

It is profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Avgeris whose generous spirit touched countless lives.

George Avgeris, 69 years old born July 15, 1956, and Passed August 29, 2025. He was preceded in Death by his Father and Mother Theodore and Paraskevi (Voula) Avgeris. His family pet, Skivie, helped him with his autism. Survived by James, Patricia, and Louis Avgeris.

Native of Denver, Colorado George graduated from Denver University with a BS in Political Science and attended Denver Law School.

George was a linguistic! Besides English he was fluent in Greek and French. He wrote many editorials and papers on Cyprus which were published.

He was invited to President Jimmy Carter's inauguration in 1976.

He was a member of the Ahpea Organization and enjoyed reading many books. He was devoted to books from Historical to Scholastic course books. To the point he complied his own library for them.

He loved the Hardy Boys books and had every edition!

George was a grade A student and was near the top for every class he took. A high school teacher once told us he would ask George for his advice on all aspects of teaching his class. While other students would study their class books, George would check out other books, take vigorous notes and ace his tests with much more information than was taught.

He loved board games; the game of Clue was his personal favorite.

His favorite foods were Greek, Thanksgiving stuffing (Greek style), peanut butter and Jelly and soda pop.

Unfortunately, a stroke hit him late in life along with his Autism he had to be taken care of by his siblings. Primarily Jim and Pat and Louis.

He was a true believer and loved being Greek Orthodox. He was an alter boy when he was younger and a member of Alphea later on. He always worked hard at Greek festivals.

Rest, rest our precious George, you are in peace and free from pain.

You're with God, Mom, Dad and Skivie.

We will miss you tremendously. We love you and you will always be with us.
