George Trammell Childers, age 76 of HIram, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born in Alpharetta on February 6, 1949, he was the son of the late Lloyd George Childers and the late Mary Bell McDarius Childers Turner. In addition to his parents, Trammell is preceded in death by two sisters Beatrice Latham and Beverly Childers, and his brothers, Ray Childers and Randall Childers.

Trammell spent most of his working career as a painter. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. Trammell was also a talented acoustic guitar player and loved playing blue grass music. He was affectionately called Pawpaw by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Joyce Maner Childers of HIram; his children and their spouses, Joy & Eric Dillman of Buchanan, Darrell & Melissa Childers of Bremen; and Julia & Doug Robertson of Bremen; and a sister, Brenda McDavis of South Carolina. Also surviving are his granchidren: Rich & Brittany Robertson, Alex Robertson, Kenny Dillman, Brad & Mahalley Dillman, Will Childers, and Ava Childers; five great-grandchildren; and a number of extended family members.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Childers will be cremated. The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date.
