George Washington Hensley, age 85 of Springfield, MO passed away on September 12, 2025. George was born in Panama, Oklahoma, to Orville Hensley and Hazel (Walker) Hensley on September 6, 1940. George attended Daniel Webster High School and graduated in 1958. He then attended Tulsa University for a short period.
George married the love of his life, High School Sweetheart, and the girl next door, Virginia Vangilder on August 22, 1959. They then moved to Springfield, MO in 1959. To this Union, were born two children, Gary Allen and Kenneth Paul.
George was preceded in death by his Parents, Orville and Hazel, and his wife Viginia Hensley.
George is survived by his two sons, Gary and significant other Carol Reed with two daughters; Renee and Tiffanie; and Kenneth and significant other Angela Kepfinger of New Jersey; two grandchildren; Brian and Steven; Brother Darrell and Sister in-law Darlene Hensley, niece Dawn Huckaby.
George is one in a million. His passion was a work ethic. He always thought of others before he thought of himself. He always knew what was best for us. Even if we did not think so, whatever he did or had, it was "THE BEST EVER." George's career path was involved with Steel and construction. He worked at Flint Steel in Tulsa, OK, Paul Mueller Steel Company, Tiger Steel, and CPC Construction Processing in Springfield, MO over the past years.
George is a Free Mason also involved with the Shriners. George believed in supporting the local sports programs. His favorites were the Missouri Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Football teams. St Louis Rams, and latest the Kansas City Chiefs. He also believed in the NY Giants, only because of his son Kenny is a fan.
Goerge loved his pets; Putter, Opie, Jordie, Mickey, Buckey, and Maddie Cat.
George will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
