George Kasich

Age 96, a long-time resident of Robinson Township, PA, passed at sunrise on Sunday, August 28, 2022. George was predeceased by his loving wife Julia in 2015. He is survived by his son George C. Kasich and daughters, Karen Tehansky and Nancy Mixon. George was the grandfather of Kevin (Lindsey) and Scott Tehansky, Drew (Liz) and Greg (Allie) Mixon and great-grandfather of Ezra Tehansky. Born in Smithdale, PA to Charles and Eva Kasich, he was the brother of Mike, Andy, John, Steve, Anne, Mary and his surviving sister, Liz. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. George served in the Army during WWII, then graduated from California University of PA, subsequently earning a Masters from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for the Montour School District for 40 years as a math teacher and then guidance counselor. He was still an avid mall walker and stock market enthusiast. Memorial contributions may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church, 1290 Silver Lane, McKees Rocks, PA 15136, where George was a charter and still active member. Family and friends may visit THURSDAY, 6-8 PM and FRIDAY, 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp. Funeral Service will be held SATURDAY, 12 PM, please meet at church, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
