George Charles Lucero, beloved husband of Mary D Lucero, passed away from cancer on July
27, 2024. Charles was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on May 7, 1959. He worked for Las
Vegas Towing for 15 years. Charles loved fishing, and camping with his wife and family.
Charles' favorite words for his wife were "you are my butterfly princess." His favorite words for
his nieces and nephews were "I don't want to lose you."
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Reynaldo Lucero and Ernestina Romero Lucero;
sister, Ana Lorraine Lucero; brother, Louie Lucero; son, Orlando Lucero; nephew, Louis Lucero
and granddaughter, Adalisa Rodriguez.
Charles is survived by his lovely wife Mary D Lucero, sons; George Charles (Rosalinda) Lucero,
Jr. of Wichita, Kansas, Billy Joe (Karen) DeLaO of Snyder, Texas, Jaime (Samantha) Olivarez,
Antonio Olivarez, Angel Juarez, Jesus Charles (Lisa) Lucero, Christopher Roy Lucero of Las Vegas, New
Mexico; his cherished grandchildren Billy Joe DeLaO, Nicholas DeLaO, Caleb DeLaO, Antonio Olivarez, Aria, Isabella,
Luke, Sean, Jasper, Angel Juarez, Angelica Juarez, Deshawn Kensey, Devaughn Kensey, Leticia
Lucero, Layden Lucero, Rosalinda Lucero, Carlos Lucero, Evalina Lucero, Orlando Lucero,
Gilbert Lucero, Benino Lucero, and honorary goddaughter Rebecca Armijo. He is also survived
by his brothers Antonio Reynaldo (Elvira) Lucero, Henry Lucero, and Manuel (Donna) Lucero
as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 5:00 pm at Rogers Mortuary Chapel in
Las Vegas, NM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 10:00
am with Pastor James Vaughn officiating, at Rogers Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas, NM.
Cremation to follow services.
