A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 29th, at 3:00 PM, in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Frank was born in Beaufort County and later moved to Pitt County where he graduated from D. H. Conley High School. Frank had been employed at UPS where he retired after 26 years of service. He was a member of Friends in Fellowship Christian Church in Winterville. He loved Jimmy Buffet, grilling out on his personal Tiki bar, beach music and shagging. Frank enjoyed spending time at the beach with his wife and family; and he was a fan of college basketball, football, and a good western.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, George and Loretta Nelson, Sr.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pat Nelson; brother, Jeff Nelson and wife, Juana; brother-in-law, Earl Downs and wife, Lisa; nephews, Michael Downs, Stephen Downs and wife, Amy, Brandon Downs and wife, Tiffany; niece, Haley Downs; great-nephews, Maverick and Beckett Downs; and special friend, Golden Doodle, Josie.
