Obituary
George Oleinik, 93, of Oceanside, CA, recently of Kildeer, IL, passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 7, 2023. He was born on August 12, 1929 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Peter and Alexandra (nee Komarowsky) Oleinik.
Upon graduating from Fairfield University, George served in the United States Marines before pursuing a successful sales career, which he loved, traveling extensively domestically and internationally.
On May 23, 1964, he married Maureen Elizabeth McCluskey in Westport, CT. Together, they celebrated 59 beautiful years of marriage and were blessed with 3 children, Alexandra, Eveleen, and Michael.
George was a motorcycling enthusiast, owning and riding many motorcycles over the years. He was also an avid fisherman, who enjoyed fishing with family and friends for salmon in Alaska and big tuna off the coast of Southern California. He treasured many family fishing trips to the Florida Keys in pursuit of mahi-mahi, grouper, and snapper.
George was a food connoisseur with an adventurous palate-he loved great seafood, international cuisines from his travels, and his wife Maureen's apple pie.
In addition to his devoted wife, Maureen, George is survived by his children, Alexandra (spouse Ronnie Chin), Eveleen (spouse Lester Johnson), and Michael Oleinik; grandchildren, Elijah Chin, Zachary Chin, Katherine Johnson, and Benjamin Johnson; his niece and nephew, Susan Scherk and Peter Oleinik III.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Peter Oleinik II.
Services and interment will be held privately.
The family requests no flowers.
